Privacy Policy
SureTek Electric & Technologies Ltd.
Effective date: October 15, 2026
Last updated: October 15, 2026
SureTek Electric & Technologies Ltd. (“SureTek”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to http://www.suretek.ca, to our booking and contact forms, and to the phone calls, emails and text messages we exchange with you about electrical work.
The information we collect
Information you give us. When you call, book a job, request an estimate, or fill in a form on our website, we collect:
- your name
- your service address and mailing address
- your phone number
- your email address
- details about the work you are asking about, including notes, photographs and documents you send us
- payment information when you pay for work
Information collected automatically. When you visit http://www.suretek.ca our website and its hosting provider record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the site running and to understand which pages are useful.
Information from our work at your property. When we attend a job we record details of the electrical work performed, equipment installed, inspection and permit information, and photographs of the work. This forms part of your service record.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- answer your enquiry and give you an estimate
- schedule, dispatch and perform electrical work
- communicate with you about a job — by phone, email and text message
- file electrical permits and arrange inspections with the municipality or inspection agency
- invoice you and process payment
- keep a service history and honour our workmanship guarantee
- meet our legal, regulatory and insurance obligations
- send you service reminders, offers and promotions, where you have agreed to receive them
Your mobile and text messaging information
Mobile and text messaging opt-in data will not be shared, sold, or rented to or with third parties for their marketing purposes. No mobile information, opt-in record, or consent to receive text messages from SureTek is ever sold, rented, shared or otherwise disclosed to any third party for that third party’s own marketing or promotional use. This applies to all categories of mobile opt-in data and is not subject to any exception.
Your phone number is used only so that SureTek can communicate with you, and is shared only with the service providers who deliver those messages on our behalf — and those providers may use it only to deliver the message, never for their own marketing.
Text messages from SureTek
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, SureTek may send you:
- job and appointment notifications — booking confirmations, appointment reminders, “technician on the way” alerts, and job status updates
- conversational messages — our office or your technician texting you about your job, and your replies to us
- marketing messages — promotions, seasonal offers, membership renewal notices and review requests, where you have separately agreed to receive them
Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.
To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent to that number.
Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details at the bottom of this policy.
Consent to receive marketing text messages is never a condition of buying anything from us, and you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the work we do for you. You will still receive messages about a job you have booked unless you ask us to stop those as well.
Who we share your information with
We share personal information only where it is needed to do the work or to meet a legal obligation. We share it with:
- our field service management provider (ServiceTitan), which holds customer records, job history and invoices, and which sends job-related and marketing messages on our behalf
- our accounting provider (QuickBooks), for invoicing and bookkeeping
- our payment processor, to take and record payment
- municipalities, utilities and electrical inspection agencies, where a permit, connection order or inspection requires it
- professional advisors, insurers and regulators, where we are required or permitted by law
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade or otherwise disclose your personal information to any third party for that third party’s own marketing purposes.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. Those steps include:
- storing customer records in access-controlled business systems rather than on personal devices
- limiting access to the employees and contractors who need it to do their work
- requiring our service providers to protect the information we give them and to use it only for the purposes we specify
- transmitting information over our website and systems using encryption
- securely disposing of records we no longer need
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take these obligations seriously.
How long we keep it
We keep customer and job records for as long as needed to provide our services, honour our workmanship guarantee, and meet our tax, legal, insurance and regulatory obligations. Records are securely destroyed or anonymised when they are no longer needed for those purposes.
Your choices and your rights
You may:
- ask what we hold about you, and ask for a copy
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date
